About Local Whisker Mission
Local Whisker Mission was founded in 2025 by a small group of seasoned and compassionate cat rescuers with over 50 years of aggregate experience in rescuing, fostering, and finding loving homes for cats & kittens in Chicago's west suburbs. Our focus is cats & kittens who have fallen through the cracks of established shelters and rescues, and who need help finding loving homes.
Our mission is to rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome the cats who need that extra bit of patience, compassion, and understanding. From timid street kittens to adults who never got their shot at adoption, we provide a safe space where each whiskered soul can heal, grow, and finally feel seen. Here, no cat is “too shy,” “too old,” or “too complicated.” They are simply waiting for the right human to recognize their magic.
All of our cats & kittens are provided with full medical care (including spay/neuter, vaccinations, FIV/FeLV testing, microchipping) and socialized in private foster homes to ensure they are in good health and socially ready to join a loving family. We pride ourselves on establishing relationships with our adopters to ensure their life-long satisfaction with the cats & kittens they adopt.
